It looks like Sony has found a replacement for Josh Trank (Chroncile) as director of Shadow of the Colossus, with Variety reporting that Andrés Muschietti (Mama) has signed on to helm the adaptation of the best selling PlayStation video game.
“We knew we had our director once we heard Andy’s take on the material – it was genius,” states producer Michael De Luca. “The themes, characters and supernatural elements of the story have incredible international appeal with fans of the game in the millions.”
Set in a world filled with mythic giants and disembodied spirits, Shadow of the Colossus will follow a man as he attempts to save his lost love by accomplishing the seemingly impossible task of destroying the colossi who roam the forbidden land.
