According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have made an offer to British actor Sean Harris (The Borgias, Prometheus) to join the cast of the action sequel Mission: Impossible 5 as the main villain.
The latest instalment of the blockbuster spy series reunites Tom Cruise with his Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie, and sees Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames all returning for another adventure. Rebecca Ferguson (Hercules) is set for the female lead, while Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) is also on board.
Mission: Impossible 5 is set for release on Christmas Day 2015.
