Rumour: Titans series looking to cast Batman and a young Robin

December 15, 2017 by Gary Collinson

If a new casting breakdown from That Hashtag Show is to be believed, it looks like DC’s live-action Teen Titans series Titans is looking to cast Bruce Wayne and a young Dick Grayson, presumably for flashback scenes.

The site has uncovered two casting notices for recurring guest stars, which have the following descriptions:

“[YOUNG JOHN CROSSLAND] Male, Caucasian, To play 10-13, athletic, lean, approximately 5’0″ and not afraid of heights.”

“[DAVE STORY] Male, mid 30s-40s, Caucasian. The downfalls of others only make this man stronger. Polished. Unwavering. Think a young Jack Nicholson.”

Now, it’s entirely possible these are two completely different characters, or perhaps that ‘John Crossland’ is another incarnation of Robin, such as Tim Drake, who has succeeded Brenton Thwaites’ Dick Grayson as the Boy Wonder.

That being said, it has been reported that the Flying Graysons could make an appearance in the series, so it’s certainly not beyond the realm of possibility that the show will explore Dick’s backstory, and his time as part of the Dynamic Duo.

Titans will follow Dick Grayson as he emerges from Batman’s shadow to become the leader of a fearless band of young, soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales star Brenton Thwaites leads the cast as Dick Grayson, alongside Teagan Croft (The Osiris Child) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Starfire, Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson (Smallville) as Hawk, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dove and Lindsey Gort (Lucifer) as Detective Amy Rohrbach.
