Joe Johnston directing “significant reshoots” on Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

December 18, 2017 by Gary Collinson

It looks like Disney’s upcoming fantasy The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is the latest blockbuster to require “significant reshoots”, with THR reporting that Joe Johnston (The Rocketeer, Captain America: The First Avenger) has been tapped to oversee additional photography on the 2018 release.

The movie was originally directed by Lasse Hallstrom (A Dog’s Purpose), who is reportedly unavailable for the reshoots due to scheduling issues but will remain involved with post-production. The additional material has been penned by Tom McCarthy (Spotlight) and the reshoots are expected to last 32 days in total.
