Christian Bale hasn’t seen any of Ben Affleck’s Batman performances

January 3, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Christian Bale, a former Dark Knight, is yet to see any of the films that feature Ben Affleck as Batman.

Batman was the role that took Christian Bale’s career to the next level with the actor playing the role three times in Christopher Nolan’s much lauded The Dark Knight trilogy.

Affleck was the actor that replaced Bale as the Caped Crusader, first playing the part in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and twice more thereafter in Suicide Squad and Justice League.

Bale, however, has yet to see any of these performances, telling the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he’s just not really into superhero movies but he is somewhat interested, mostly because of his son:

“I have not [seen Ben Affleck’s Batman]. Yes, I’m interested [in seeing it], my son seemed like he was really interested, but then I realized he just wanted to see the trailer and that was it. I tend to go see films that [my kids] want to see. I have to confess I’m not a huge superhero film fan. People seem surprised at that, I don’t know why. I’ve not seen any of the Avengers films or any of those films at all. I hear they’re very good, but I’m quite happy just hearing they’re very good.”

Perhaps Bale will get round to taking his son to see Matt Reeves’ The Batman once it arrives, whoever happens to be playing the title role.
