Exclusive Interview – Liam Neeson on his return to high-octane action in The Commuter

January 16, 2018 by Tom Beasley

Tom Beasley sits down with action man Liam Neeson ahead of the release of The Commuter in UK cinemas…

Liam Neeson has become known over the last decade as one of Hollywood’s most reliable action leads, whether he’s cracking human skulls or punching a wolf in the face. His latest movie, The Commuter marks his fourth collaboration with Spanish director Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Neeson for Unknown, Non-Stop and Run All Night.

Neeson plays the eponymous train traveller, who is visited on the day of his sacking by a new passenger, who poses an unusual challenge. There is someone on board the train who doesn’t belong there and Neeson must identify them. If he does so successfully, there’s a hefty financial reward, but if he doesn’t, there are consequences for him and everyone he loves.

The action man himself sat down with Flickering Myth for a chat ahead of the film’s arrival in UK cinemas.

In this action-packed thriller, Liam Neeson plays an insurance salesman, Michael, on his daily commute home, which quickly becomes anything but routine. After being contacted by a mysterious stranger, Michael is forced to uncover the identity of a hidden passenger on his train before the last stop. As he works against the clock to solve the puzzle, he realizes a deadly plan is unfolding and is unwittingly caught up in a criminal conspiracy. One that carries life and death stakes for himself and his fellow passengers.

The Commuter is set for release on January 19th in the UK.
