Pacific Rim Uprising helmer wants to see Zack Snyder directing Man of Steel 2

February 3, 2018 by Gary Collinson

While it’s never officially been confirmed by Warner Bros. as being in development, rumours of a sequel to Man of Steel have been circulating widely for the past couple of years, with the likes of Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class) and George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road) linked to the director’s chair.

Responding to a fan question on Twitter, Pacific Rim Uprising helmer Steven S. DeKnight was asked if he had any interest in directing Man of Steel 2, with his response of ‘Up, up and away!’ leading to articles linking him to the sequel. But, as he subsequently clarified, his preference would be to see Zack Snyder back behind the camera:

Good lord. All I said was “Up, up and away” in response to being asked if I’d be interested in directing MOS2. My preference would be to see @ZackSnyder helm the sequel. Love his work. https://t.co/I3U8hEpYVr

DeKnight does of course have past experience with the Man of Steel, having worked as a producer and director on Smallville, while his comic book credentials also include serving as showrunner on the first season of Marvel’s Daredevil.

Who would you like to see directing Man of Steel 2, assuming Warner Bros. ever decides to move forward with the sequel? Let us know in the comments below…
