Chadwick Boseman spills the details of how he got in and out of his Black Panther suit

February 8, 2018 by Samuel Brace

It seems that Chadwick Boseman’s suit for Black Panther wasn’t the easiest thing to live with – not an uncommon occurrence in the world of superhero movies.

Black Panther is nearly upon us and with a tremendous amount of buzz behind it, the film should have everything it needs to perform very well at the global box office.

Chadwick Boseman, the star of Black Panther, has been doing the rounds recently to discuss the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has shed light on a few behind the scenes details.

Once such element of production he discussed was his Black Panther suit. Speaking to Variety, Boseman touched on how accessible the suit was regarding detours to the bathroom, after being asked about how difficult Michelle Pfeiffer found the process in Batman Returns.

“It’s probably better than when she had her suit. There are some concessions to make it a little easier. But it depends on what you’re talking about. Number two is much harder. Number one is still a hassle. You’ve got to get it off and get it back on.”

The suit is, according to Boseman, a latex and rubber concoction and it takes a fair bit of effort to get him inside:

“It used to take three people to put it on. We were able to shorten the time period significantly and shorten it just to one. It’s a process of trying to pull this, pull that.”

To see the suit in action for yourself, perhaps in a more action packed capacity than what was described by Boseman, make sure you see the film when it releases next week.

When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakandan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.
