Sony’s Silver & Black Spider-Man spinoff gets new screenwriters

February 17, 2018 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that screenwriters Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking, Godzilla vs. Kong) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel, Tomb Raider) have penned the latest draft of the script for its female-led Spider-Man spinoff movie Silver & Black.

The film – which revolves around the characters of Spidey femme fatales Silver Sable and Black Cat – is being directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Secret Life of Bees), who is now doing a final polish on the screenplay. Prince-Bythewood wrote the previous draft, after both Chris Yost (Thor: Ragnarok) and Lisa Joy (Westworld) had earlier contributed to the script.

If rumours are to be believed, the plan for Silver & Black is to begin shooting next month, which means we should soon get some official casting news on the project.

The film is slated for release on February 8th 2019, and Sony will launch its new series of Spider-Man spinoffs this coming October with the release of the Tom Hardy-headlined Venom movie.
