Pirates of the Caribbean director to helm Here There Be Monsters

March 5, 2018 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Rønning is set to helm the sci-fi thriller Here There Be Monsters.

Co-written by Joachim and his brother Andreas, the film will be produced by MRC (Baby Driver), and while plot details are being kept under wraps, the site reports that the movie will include water, as with Rønning’s previous work on Kon-Tiki and Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Rønning is currently gearing up to direct Angelina Jolie in the Disney sequel Maleficent 2, at which point he’ll then movie on to Here There Be Monsters. The Rønning brothers are also currently writing the sci-fi action film Origin for Paramount Pictures.
