Jackie Chan talks The Expendables 3 and Rush Hour 4

May 20, 2013 by admin

Just last week, Sylvester Stallone announced a couple of casting additions for The Expendables 3, revealing that Mickey Rourke would reprise the role of Tool from the first movie, as well as confirming that Asian martial arts superstar Jackie Chan would be joining the line-up for the third instalment in the explosive action franchise. Well, it appears that Sly may have jumped the gun slightly, as Jackie Chan has offered an update on his involvement in the film, revealing that there may be a potential scheduling conflict:

“I would love to work with Stallone,” said Chan, who spoke to Getty Images at the Cannes Film Festival: “I’m going to meet him and see what happens. I am supposed to be in The Expendables 3 but at the time I am meant to be doing Chinese Zodiac. I cannot promise you anything but let’s see what happens. I would love to do it. I love Stallone.”

While Jackie is certainly open to joining the roster of ageing action icons for The Expendables 3, it seems he’s less enthusiastic about a return to the Rush Hour franchise, although he is hopeful of reuniting with Rush Hour co-star Chris Tucker, albeit for another franchise: “I think maybe not a Rush Hour 4. I think that maybe Chris Tucker and I will start another movie. If the people still want Rush Hour 4 then okay, we’ll do Rush Hour 4, but I think Chris and me start another series of films.”
