Comic Book Review – Think Tank #7

May 15, 2013 by admin

Villordsutch reviews Think Tank #7…

Dr. David Loren’s work on the 36 barrel/600 rounds per minute Metalstorm led to an epiphany that he no longer wanted to create inventions of destruction for the military. But David has lived a sheltered life behind the barricades of a government-contracted think tank and has never directly been forced to come face to face with the deadly consequences of his actions… until now.

Now this is a good comic. A comic that you can buy and you aren’t left wondering on what the heck is going, which is fantastic seeing as though I’ve walked in on issue # 7. I don’t know these characters but Matt Hawkins (Witchblade, Lady Pendragon) and Rahsan Ekedal (Solomon Kane, Warhammer) have already created a world which I am very much interested in.

There is so much drama wrapped up in these 20 or so pages that when you reach the last you’re very much annoyed that it’s ended and you feel cheated that the information pages are occupying valuable space where you want more story to be.

There is a problem though, and I do feel rather mean picking on this, but heck I’m reviewing this comic and I’m here to spout my thoughts. The problem is Black & White.

Except for the cover everything else in this comic is black and white (or shades of grey). This can sometimes make a comic that little bit better, or give a fanzine/cult shine to it, but not here. It looks wrong. It feels like an after thought to remove the colour from the pages and I don’t like the look of it. If there was colour there originally, I’d like it back please. That being said the artwork itself looks great; the characters, technology and locations are well drawn and clear, you can tell someone loves their job and is putting their talent into each page.

Don’t let my gripes about the lack of colour put you off buying Think Tank #7. You really won’t be disappointed (unless of course your thing is My Little Pony, in which case you’d hate this).
