Destiny is bringing in impressive amounts of players

October 17, 2014 by Tom Powter

Even a month after release, Bungie’s phenomenal success Destiny is still bringing in enormous amounts of daily players. The game is currently seeing 3.2 million players a day, which is more than the combined online figures of Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.

Those players also seem to be fairly committed to the game, averaging a play time of three hours a day and having played an average of 20.9 times. It’s certainly an impressive set of numbers for Destiny, a game which has failed to set the critics alight. Regardless, it seems to have done something right to continue to bring in that many players a month after its release.

Despite the game being fairly average in most regards, there is something about the fundamental shooting mechanics that makes it a somewhat, occasionally satisfying shooter to play.

Destiny is Bungie’s latest outing and was released on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. You can read our full review of the game here.
