Danielle Panabaker talks about her potential Killer Frost transformation on The Flash

October 27, 2014 by James Garcia

When Danielle Panabaker joined the cast of The Flash as Caitlin Snow, a chill ran down the spine of comic book fans, who know her by another name: Killer Frost. Her inclusion in the series was a sign that the writers wouldn’t shy away from pulling characters and inspiration from the comics, but so far no sign of Snow’s icy alter-ego has been spotted on the show.

In a new interview with IGN, Panabaker talked a bit about the possibility of her eventual transformation: “I think it’s really exciting. What’s so cool about this show is how, at least in my experience, how faithful they are being to all the comic book lore. They are so respectful of the stories that have been told and it’s exciting. The thought that goes into the Flash costume and all of that. It would be exciting to be a part of that.”

Judging by how the series has introduced metahumans into the series so far, it’s only a matter of time before Snow, currently one of Barry Allen’s closest friends and allies, makes a villainous transformation. Until then, however, Panabaker is just happy to be on the show and doesn’t let her character’s endgame distract from her work:

“I don’t think it changes things for me, as an actor because a lot like the audience, we’re getting the scripts one week at a time and just sort of taking this new information. Obviously we’ve had conversations with Andrew [Kreisberg] and Greg and Geoff [Johns] about what’s happened before and that sort of thing but it’s kind of fun to be that audience member who gets every new script. I mean, truthfully when they come in, I’m like a little kid in a candy store. I like can’t wait to read it and I’m squinting, reading it on my iPhone, and I can’t wait to see what happens.”

Tell us, would you like to see Panabaker become Killer Frost at some point in the series? Or will Captain Cold’s appearance this week tide you over as far as ice-themed characters go? Let us know in the comments below.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on the CW at 8pm.
