Turtle Beach Star Wars Headset Review

November 16, 2014 by Andy Naylor

Andy Naylor reviews the Turtle Beach Star Wars Headset…

Turtle Beach have grown into one of the premier headphone manufacturers in the world today. They provide a wide range of products for every audio purpose and for every gaming platform available. The Turtle Beach Ear Force Star Wars Gaming Headset (TBS-4035-01) are primarily designed for PC and mobile devices, however they also work very well on your PS4, thanks to the smartly included audio input on the Dualshock 4.

The Star Wars Headset is not aimed at the higher range of audio enthusiast, it’s very much mid-range, but still with significant quality. Audio from mobile devices, music, games and podcasts, are all outputted superbly, music being the noticeable improvement in quality. However, gaming is where this headset really comes into it’s own. The difference between the quality of the sound being output is huge when compared to run-of-the-mill headsets or a standard TV’s own speakers. Playing sports games involving crowds, such as FIFA or Madden, is an even more immersive experience, individual shouts and comments which had never been heard before are clearly there and add to the experience.

Comfort wise, the headsets can be worn for hours without any discomfort. Some headsets can squeeze the ears, press on them uncomfortably and even start to feel heavy after a while, not so with Star Wars Gaming Headset. They are light and never feel like a burden to wear, the headphones themselves are big enough to cover even the largest of Yoda ears, and they even passed the glasses test – when wearing a pair of glasses most headsets pin the ears against the glasses frame resulting in a quite unpleasant soreness, this does not occur on these, even after several hours of use.

The Star Wars design in unique and will appeal to every fan of the force, and the ability to swap the plates attached to the headphones offers a little variety depending on deep into the dark side you fall. If you’re after a new headset for portable devices or for PC/PS4 gaming, disappointed you will not be in the Turtle Beach Ear Force Star Wars Gaming Headset (TBS-4035-01).
