Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer will DEFINITELY be released this Friday in select IMAX cinemas

It was rumoured over the weekend that the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens would debut over this coming Friday, one day after fellow 2015 blockbuster Jurassic World shows off its first look. Well, it has now been confirmed – your first chance to get a glimpse at J.J Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be this Friday in select IMAX cinemas in the US. No word yet on showings outside of the land of the free or the Internet. But, no doubt there will be some bootleg copies available…

The trailer will show before all movies in these screens.

UPDATE: The trailer will be 88 seconds long according to J.J. Abrams. So if you’re going to the cinema just to see the trailer, it will be a very expensive minute or so.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for release on December 18th 2015 and sees returning stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) joined by Adam Driver (Girls), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (Dredd), John Boyega (Attack the Block), Daisy Ridley (Silent Witness), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave), Miltos Yerolemou (Game of Thrones), Max von Sydow (The Exorcist), Christina Chong (24: Live Another Day) and newcomers Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen.
