John Travolta is heading back to the small screen for his first recurring role since the late 70s’ Welcome Back, Kotter, signing on for a part in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, where he’ll play The Juice’s lawyer Robert Shapiro.
Produced by American Horror Story’s Ryan Murphy, the legal drama is set to star Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson, with David Schwimmer playing attorney Robert Kardashian and Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark.
The 10-episode drama is set to explore O.J.’s 1995 murder trial from the perspective of both the prosecution and Simpson’s ‘Dream Team’ of defense laywers. Production will get underway early this year.
