Jamie Dornan has apparently quit Fifty Shades of Grey sequels because his wife was “uncomfortable”

February 25, 2015 by Luke Owen

It may be the biggest grossing 18-rating movie as of this week, but it looks like the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels are set to lose one half of its leading duo.

According to an Australian newspaper, Jamie Dornan is set to quit the franchise due to his wife being “uncomfortable” with the raunchy sex scenes with co-star Dakota Johnson. Dornan had said previously that he would be back for Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, but these new reports suggest otherwise.

However, a representative of Dornan has said, “all press reports are pure conjecture as the studio has not committed to a sequel as yet.”

This comes in the wake of the news that director Sam Taylor-Johnson has also left the sequels following her on-set bust ups with the book’s author E.L. James. Taylor-Johnson has said publicly that they had issues during the movie’s production as James was keen for the film to be literal adaptation with much stronger sex scenes, while Taylor-Johnson was looking to take the movie in a different direction. New reports have suggested that James will now write the script for Fifty Shades Darker, which could mean the movie misses its February 2016 date and be pushed back to Valentine’s Day 2017.
