Disney has announced that Emma Thompson, Kevin Kline and Josh Gad have signed on to star in the studio’s upcoming remake of the animated classic Beauty and the Beast, which is being directed by Bill Condon.
Thompson is set for the role of Mrs. Potts, while Kline will portray Belle’s father Maurice and Josh Gad will play Le Fou, sidekick to the villainous Gaston. The villain himself is being played by Luke Evans, while Dan Stevens will play the Beast alongside Emma Watson as Belle.
Beauty and the Beast is set for release on March 17th 2017 and is one of several upcoming live-action Disney adaptations, with Cinderella opening in the UK later this month [read our review here] and The Jungle Book and Dumbo also on the horizon.
