A new adventure for Doctor Who’s The Master comes to Big Finish in February 2025

November 15, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Big Finish has announced that a brand-new box set of three full-cast audio dramas centred around the Master will be arriving in February 2025. The Worlds of Doctor Who – Call Me Master: Inner Demons unleashes a new incarnation of the Master upon the universe and this time, there’s no Doctor around to stop him.

Call Me Master: Inner Demons is the first of two box sets starring Sacha Dhawan as the Master and features three tales filled with all the chaos that the Master delights in.  These new audio adventures are:

Self-Help by Robert Valentine finds the Master a little unsure of who he is after his latest incarnation. Despite having a diabolical scheme on the go, the Master isn’t feeling himself and knows he needs help, but will he be able to help himself?

Author Robert Valentine said “Where Sacha’s Master fits into the timeline is a deliberate mystery, so I thought it would be fun, in the context of starting a fresh series with him as our antihero, to embrace his identity crisis in a big way and make that the point of the story – he doesn’t know where he fits in, and that’s a huge source of anxiety for him.”

The Clockwork Swan written by Georgia Cook takes listeners to the opening night of The Clockwork Swan, the latest presentation at the cultural theme park Historica Dramatica.  The performance of this whodunnit is at risk of being cancelled as the cast and crew are being murdered, but the galaxy-renowned detective LeMaitre may just save the day, although he isn’t all he seems.

Finally, in The Good Life by Una McCormack, listeners are taken to the distant island of Sark where a religious group work together to maintain balance. When a newcomer arrives, the first in living memory, the weather becomes more changeable and people become more violent.  Who is the newcomer and is it coincidence that these changes are happening now?

Sacha Dhawan reprises his role as the Master

Other cast members joining Sacha Dhawan in these new audio adventures are Richard Fleeshman, Dave Hearn and Bethany Antonia.

The Worlds of Doctor Who – Call Me Master: Inner Demons is available to pre-order now as a collector’s edition 3-disc CD box set with digital download for £22.99 or digital download only for £18.99.
