Adi Shankar producing “super violent” Castlevania animated series

August 27, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Adi Shankar – the producer behind the unofficial shorts Punisher: Dirty Laundry, Venom: Truth in Journalism, Judge Dredd: Superfiend , Power/Rangers and James Bond: In Service of Nothing – has announced via Facebook that he’s working on a “super violent” animated series based around the classic video game franchise Castlevania.

“I’m producing a super violent Castlevania mini-series with my homies Fred Seibert and Kevin Klonde,” states Shankar. “It’s going to be dark, satirical, and after a decade of propaganda it will flip the vampire sub-genre on its head.”

Speaking to Collider, Shankar revealed that the story would be based upon Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, and that there will be a high level of violence and gore: “The goal is to bring hard hitting anime to America and be America’s first animated series for adults.”
