Alone in the Dark reboot pushed back to 2024 as new trailers showcase Jodie Comer and David Harbour

September 6, 2023 by Andrew Newton

THQ Nordic and developer Pieces Interactive have announced that due to the good amount of great titles coming to gamers this October (including Spider-Man 2, Cities: Skylines 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonder to name but a few) that they will be delaying the release of Alone in the Dark to 16th January 2024.

The announcement explaining their reasoning for postponing the release can be seen below:

Our intention is to avoid competing with the wake of Alan’s epic release and to evade the dazzling skyline of cities adorned by the graceful swings of Spider-Man. We aim to truly remain as Alone in the Dark as possible. To honour this, the spine-chilling horror game has been rescheduled to unveil its horrors on January 16th, 2024. This extension will serve a dual purpose: not only will it permit us to meticulously perfect the gaming experience, but it will also grant us the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the remarkable releases of October.

Alone in the Dark takes players deep into the 1920’s South where they will follow Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood on their journey through the sinister Derceto Manor, a home for the mentally ill.  Face terrifying monsters, strange asylum residents, supernatural creatures and nightmarish realms and uncover the truth of a rising evil.

Alone in the Dark features Jodie Comer as Emily Hartwood and David Harbour as Edward Carnby.  Watch their showcase trailers below…

Gamers on Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5 and PC will now be able to enjoy this re-imagining of the classic survival horror on 16th January 2024.
