Ant-Man nears $500 million worldwide

October 26, 2015 by admin

While it has hardly reached the heights of Iron Man 3, Guardians of the Galaxy or Captain America: The Winter Solider, Ant-Man has almost reached an important milestone in the MCU, thanks in part to its big opening in China a few weeks back.

Still pulling in money from its domestic and International release, Ant-Man now sits at $179 million domestic and $314.8 million worldwide, giving it a total of $493.8 million. If its International screenings can do well, Ant-Man should comfortably pass the $500 million mark in the coming weeks, making it the ninth movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to do so.

The only other movies not to hit that mark are The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor.

Paul Rudd will reprise his role of Scott Lang/Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War, before teaming up with Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp for Ant-Man and The Wasp, set for release on July 6th, 2018.
