Anya Taylor-Joy says The New Mutants has a tone unlike any other movie

January 28, 2020 by Samuel Brace

The New Mutants has a tone unlike any other movie says star of the film Anya Taylor-Joy ahead of release.

The New Mutants, the last Fox-produced X-Men film, now coming out under the Disney umbrella, is finally coming to cinemas after a long time on the shelf. But what will the film be like, especially compared to other recent comic book films?

Well, star of the film Anya Taylor-Joy has spoken to DigitalSpy about what fans can expect:

“I think this is unlike any tone I’ve seen before on film in the sense that you’ve got a lot of things playing where, of course, we’re superheroes, but [director Josh Boone] is treating us very much like people.

“It very much has the feel of a coming-of-age story and then you have the darkness that comes with that, moments of levity and then, of course, we all have powers. It’s very unique.”
