Aquaman’s Patrick Wilson still excited over the DC Extended Universe

December 14, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Aquaman star Patrick Wilson is still excited for the future of the DC Extended Universe.

Wilson is set to appear as the villain Ocean Master in the Aquaman solo movie, to be directed by James Wan. And while the latest entry in the series, Justice League, didn’t go down as well as many had hoped, Wilson is still optimistic about what the future might hold.

Aquaman is one of the DC films that we definitely know is on the way, set to be released next December. And Wilson, speaking to Metro, expressed confidence at the decisions being made regarding DC:

“As they say, there are a lot of different ways to skin a cat. Or to make a movie and a franchise. I can only speak on behalf of being an actor and having a relationship with the directors. As a fan, I sit back and see the choices that they make for directors and they are very strong, focused, individual directors and that takes confidence. It easy to hire someone that is just a yes man. And they’re certainly not, which is very exciting.”

Wilson did avoid providing his thoughts on if the DCEU is getting a bad shake of things and instead continued to speak about the positive experiences he himself is having.

Aquaman is directed by James Wan (The Conjuring) and stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, reprising his role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Ludi Lin as Murk, Michael Beach as Jesse Kane, Otis Dhanji as a young Arthur Curry and Graham McTavish in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on December 21st 2018.
