Asterix & Obelix: Heroes unveiled with teaser trailer

September 17, 2023 by Andrew Newton

NACON, Jumpgate AB and Les Éditions Albert René have released the first trailer for their upcoming adventure Asterix & Obelix: Heroes. Despite being a short trailer it still gives a quick preview of the gameplay and some of the different characters that players can choose from and some of the enemies that they will be facing.  Watch this new trailer below….

Asterix & Obelix: Heroes takes us back to 50BC, to a Roman occupied Gaul, or at least a majority of it. Deep in the heart of Gaul lies one indomitable village, the home of our heroes Asterix and Obelix who have managed to thwart every scheme of the invaders.  Unfortunately, Julius Ceasar is plotting to take over their tiny village once again by seizing the mythical Sword of Toutatis, which is said to have the power to make all Gauls submit to the holder’s will, so it’s time for our heroes to set off once more and keep their village Roman free.

Asterix & Obelix: Heroes is a turn-based strategy card game where players choose 4 heroes from 24 unlockable characters and journey through 6 iconic locations of the comic series to recover the pieces of the map leading the way to sword.  Players will be able to construct their own decks and utilise the unique skills of each hero to defeat their opponents in the numerous battles across these 6 environments.

The game features:

  • Recruit and play as 24 iconic characters from the franchise, including Dogmatix, Vitalstatistix and Panacea, and use their unique skills.
  • Collect cards with a variety of effects, such as defence, attack and heal and craft a unique deck.
  • Travel through 6 iconic regions of Asterix’ world, including Ancient Britain, the Carnutes Forest, the Land of the Norse, Rome, Egypt and Gaul.

Asterix & Obelix: Heroes will be released on 5th October on Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
