Atari classic Haunted House coming to PC and consoles this October

September 19, 2023 by Andrew Newton

Atari and Orbit Studio have announced they will be releasing their classic survival horror game Haunted House on PC and consoles on 12th October.  This upcoming stealth-horror adventure is a roguelite revival of the classic Atari 2600 game released back in 1982 and has enough spooky charm to get you ready for Halloween. Watch the new announcement trailer below…

As the original graphics from a 40+ year old game wouldn’t go down well with a modern gamer, Orbit Studio has given the game a 2D cartoonish art style that is both charming and whimsical, while still providing a touch of horror as to what lies in the shadows.

In Haunted House players take the role of Lyn Graves, the young niece of the famous treasure hunter Zachary Graves, who goes to her uncle’s mansion with her friends to investigate his mysterious disappearance. When her friends also vanish into the shadows it’s time for Lyn to stealthily explore the hidden rooms and shifting corridors of the mansion and encounter the fiendish spirits that dwell within. Should Lyn fall foul of a sinister spook then she’ll find herself back at the entrance with a whole new floor layout and rearranged enemies ahead of her.

As players find Lyn’s trapped friends they will become playable characters that can be used to get further into the mansion.  Each friend has different stats that will help to explore different areas.

Stealth is essential for Lyn to succeed and players will need to ensure they move and solve challenges as quietly as they can, while using a wide array of traps and items to keep from being discovered.

Look out for Haunted House coming to PC and consoles this October.
