Avengers: Age of Ultron: No Captain Marvel, and no post-credits scene

April 7, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Of all the rumours that have been floating around about Avengers: Age of Ultron, one of the most persistent has been the possible inclusion of Carol Danvers ahead of the Captain Marvel movie in 2018.

The speculation increased earlier this month when it was revealed that Julie Delpy (Before Midnight) and Linda Cardellini (Freaks and Geeks) are set to appear in mystery roles (although they’re not a mystery any longer), but Marvel chief Kevin Feige has now ruled out an appearance, with the producer telling EW categorically that Captain Marvel will not feature in the film. Of course, there is the chance that he could be covering his tracks, but we’ll find out for sure in just a couple of weeks…

Meanwhile, if you were planning on sticking around until after the credits of the Age of Ultron, you’ll be wasting your time as director Joss Whedon has revealed that: “There is nothing at the very end. And that’s not a fake-out. We want people to know so they don’t sit there for 10 minutes and then go ‘Son of a bitch! I’ll kill them.'”

However, fear not as Feige has clarified that the customary mid-credits scene will be present: “There will be a tag, but there’s not a post-post-credit scene.”

Jackson (Nick Fury), Paul Bettany (JARVIS / The Vision), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), James Spader (Ultron), Stellen Skarsgard (Erik Selvig), Thomas Kretschmann (Baron Strucker), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Claudia Kim (Dr. Cho) and Andy Serkis (Uylsses Klaue).
