Avengers: Endgame’s Cassie Lang actress reacts to being replaced for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

December 17, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Emma Fuhrmann, the actress who played Cassie Lang in Avengers: Endgame, has reacted to the news that she has been replaced for Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania.

It can never be a nice feeling as an actor when you are replaced by a different performer but when it’s the MCU, it must hurt even more.

This is just what has happened to Emma Fuhrmann, who played grown-up Cassie Lang in Avengers: Endgame. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been announced with the main cast all returning but with a new actress (Kathryn Newton) playing Scott’s daughter Cassie.

Taking to Twitter, original actress Fuhrmann said: “Just wanted to come on here & say that I see all your kind messages. Thank you for all your support. It has meant the world to me. I was as sad as you all were to hear the news Thursday. I can only hope that this means there is something else for me in the future of the MCU. /1

“I will always be grateful to have been a part of the MCU & the biggest movie of all time. Being an actress is still my #1 passion & I look forward to what the future holds. Xo Emma.”

While it’s obviously sad news for the actress, hopefully, she can go on to some other exciting projects. And, as she mentions, she was still involved in the biggest movie ever.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is being directed by Peyton Reed and stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym) and Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet Van Dyne) along with MCU new additions Kathryn Newton (Freaky) as Cassie Lang and Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country) as Kang the Conqueror.
