The Banana Splits return in trailer for R-rated horror movie

July 1, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

Syfy and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have released the first trailer for The Banana Splits Movie, the upcoming feature which adds a horror spin on the classic children’s 60’s TV show. Directed by Danishka Esterhazy, the film stars Dani Kind (Wyonna Earp), Finlay Wojtak-Hissong (The Kindness Of Strangers), Steve Lund (Bitten) and Sara Canning (War For The Planet Of The Apes); watch it here…

A boy named Harley and his family (brother Austin, mother Beth, and father Mitch) attend a taping of The Banana Splits TV show, which is supposed to be a fun-filled birthday for young Harley and business as usual for Rebecca, the producer of the series. But things take an unexpected turn — and the body count quickly rises. Can Harley, his mom and their new pals safely escape?

The Banana Splits Movie is set for release on DVD and Blu-ray this summer and will also air on Syfy later in the year.
