The film is based on the 2002 comic storyline in the Batman title from writer Jeph Loeb and artist Jim Lee. It saw Batman’s life complicated by a mysterious conspiracy involving all his major villains and the shadowy chessmaster known only as Hush. To further complicate matters, his relationship with Catwoman takes a serious romantic turn that upends his life as both Bruce Wayne and Batman. The story became a fan-favourite and classic among Batman fans with Hush as an intriguing new villain to the Batman mythos.

Set to feature in the voice cast of Batman: Hush are Jason O’Mara as Batman, Jennifer Morrison as Selina Kyle, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane, Rainn Wilson as Lex Luthor, Sean Maher as Nightwing, Bruce Thomas as Jim Gordon, Stuart Allan as Damian Wayne,  James Garrett as Alfred Pennyworth, Maury Sterling as Thomas Elliot, Geoffrey Arend as Riddler, Vanessa Williams as Amanda Waller, Jason Spisak as Joker, Adam Gifford as Bane, Dachie Alessio as Lady Shiva, Peyton List as both Batgirl and Poison Ivy and Tara Strong as a Reporter.

Batman: Hush is directed by Justin Copeland, making his animated directorial debut after working on several of DC’s previous animated films as a storyboard artist. The script was written by Ernie Altbacker (Teen Titans: The Judas Contract). James Tucker, Sam Register, Benjamin Melniker and Michael Uslan are executive producing with Amy McKenna, Alan Burnett and Jim Krieg as producers.
