Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cast respond to negative reviews

March 24, 2016 by Gary Collinson

It’s fair to say that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hasn’t got off to the best of starts when it comes to reviews. Scott Davis gave it two stars in his review here at Flickering Myth (Oli Davis hated it) and on Rotten Tomatoes its currently got a worse score than The Room. So, what do the cast make of the critical response to Warner’s big DC ensemble?

“What is going to really matter, I believe, is what the audience says,” Henry Cavill tells Yahoo. “Because they’re the ones who are buying tickets, they’re the ones who want to see more of this kind of story, or not. So the audience’s voice is loudest, and after this weekend, the audience will at least partly have spoken.”

Ben Affleck agreed with Cavill, while Amy Adams said the film wasn’t made “for the critics”, Jesse Eisenberg said he doesn’t even watch the movies he’s in never mind read the reviews, Gal Gadot praised Zack Snyder’s “fantastic work”, and Snyder himself said that he made the film based upon the comics he loves, “and I don’t know how else to do it, so it is what it is.”

In just a few short hours, we’ll see how the fans respond…

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
