Better Call Saul final season scripts won’t be delayed

April 22, 2020 by Samuel Brace

The scripts for the final season of Better Call Saul are not going to be delayed reveals co-creator.

This week saw the season five finale of Better Call Saul land. Things certainly aren’t looking good for Jimmy, Kim, Nacho, and Mike after this week’s events, especially now that Lalo is on the warpath.

The sixth and final season has been ordered by AMC and will consist of 13 episodes, up three from its normal allotment of 10. Fans are looking forward to seeing how the show catches up and then surpasses the Breaking Bad timeline but should we expect a delay due to current lockdown?

Well, according to co-creator and showrunner Peter Gould, the writing process is already underway remotely! Meaning there will be no delay in this area at least. Speaking to Variety, he said:

“We just started working the last few weeks, and it is going to be a really big, big season. There are some things going on in the writers’ room that I’m really excited about. I’m so proud of all the seasons of the show and Season Five in particular, so we’re hoping for Season 6 not to be an anti-climax. Hanging over everything is the fact that I was so pleased with how Breaking Bad ended. People can’t help but start drawing comparisons between the two shows, and my fervent hope is that we’re able to stick the landing, the way Vince Gilligan led us to stick the landing on Breaking Bad.”

Expectations have certainly been raised even higher by the quality and dramatic events of season five. Fingers crossed they can top what has come so far and match the memorable final season of Breaking Bad.
