The Boys TV series casts the rest of The Seven

January 19, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Last month it was announced that Erin Moriarty (True Detective) had secured the role of Starlight in Amazon’s upcoming adaptation of the Garth Ennis / Darick Robertson comic book series The Boys, and now Deadline is reporting that the show has found the rest of its superhero team, The Seven.

According to the site, Antony Starr (American Gothic) will play team-leader Homelander, with Dominique McElligott (The Last Tycoon) as Queen Maeve, Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl) as The Deep, Jessie T. Usher (Independence Day: Resurgence) as A-Train, and Nathan Mitchell (iZombie) as Black Noir.

The TV adaptation of The Boys has been created and written by Supernatural‘s Eric Kripke, with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Preacher) executive producing. It revolves around a group of superpowered CIA squad known as The Boys, who are charged with monitoring the superhero community – many of whom are corrupted by their celebrity status.

In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, The Boys centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as ‘the boys,’ who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.
