Cable gets cast in Deadpool 2, Del Toro directing a Star Wars movie, Hela in Avengers: Infinity War and more – Daily News Roundup

April 13, 2017 by admin

BROLIN 4 CABLE

After weeks and weeks and weeks of speculation, it has finally been revealed who will play Cable in the upcoming Deadpool 2, which sees Ryan Reynolds reprise his role as the Merc With a Mouth. Was it Pierce Brosnan? Was it Michael Shannon? Was it Brad Pitt? Was it that guy from Stranger Things? Nope. In fact the future mutant saviour will be played by none other than Thanos himself, Josh Brolin. Not only that, but Brolin has signed up for four films including Deadpool 3 and X-Force. Read more about that here.

UNITE THE LEAGUE

A new poster for Zack Snyder’s Justice League landed online yesterday, which you can check out here.

DUMBLE-LAW

It wasn’t just Brolin’s casting that caused some stir among the Internet yesterday, as Warner Bros announced that Jude Law would be playing a young Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2. “As fans ourselves, we are thrilled to have Jude Law joining the Fantastic Beasts cast, playing a character so universally adored,” said Toby Emmerich, president and chief content officer of Warner Bros. Pictures. “Jude has been a member of the Warner Bros. family for years and we’re excited to embark on this new adventure with him.” Read more about that here.

RAGNA-RECORDS

Not only did it meet the overwhelming approval of the Flickering Myth writing staff, but the first trailer for Thor: Raganrok has broken Marvel and Disney for the most views in a 24 hour time span. So what was the impressive number? An incredible 134 million views! That tops Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War‘s 94 million and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast‘s 127 million. Read more about that here.

HELA INFINITY WAR

Speaking of Thor: Ragnarok, and its villain Hela looks to be sticking around in the MCU for the foreseeable future. It’s been rumoured for some time now that she could be the MCU version of Lady Death, whom Thanos is courting in Avengers: Infinity War, and a new report is saying this could be very true. Read more about that here.

GET TO DA CHOPPER!

Shane Black’s Predator movie is deep in production now, and one of its stars has promised a wicked sense of humour for the film. “Shane has his whole take on it and it’s very different than the original Predator,” says Sterling K. Brow. “It’s got a really wicked sense of humour to it, which I love about it. And it’s got a real camaraderie amongst the main characters that I think folks will be attracted to. That’s pretty much all I can say.” Read more here.

DEL TORO DIRECTING STAR WARS

There’s a long list of directors fans of Star Wars would like to see helm an adventure from the galaxy far, far away – and Pacific Rim visionary Guillermo del Toro has revealed he nearly jumped on board. “I will not comment on this, because then somebody will say, ‘Oh, Guillermo’s doing [Star Wars]!’ and I look like a kook,” he said in an interview. “Neil Gaiman once said that, ‘I’d love to write Doctor Strange with Guillermo,’ and then all of a sudden on my IMDb I had Doctor Strange [listed]. But saying all of that as a caveat, I would say there’s some characters that are great, and I have talked to Kathy Kennedy and John Knoll about ideas. But you know, I want to do my shit. I want to do my shit, I want to do it first, and I’m veering a lot towards animation. I love animation.” Read more here.
