Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst and Peter Dinklage take us behind the scenes of Derek Cianfrance’s Roofman in new featurette

September 9, 2025 by Matt Rodgers

Following its critically acclaimed debut at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, Paramount Pictures has given audiences a peek behind-the-scenes of Derek Cianfrance’s Roofman, his based-on-a-true-story tale of an ex-con who secretly lives inside the roof of a Toys “R” Us for six months.

Written by The Place Beyond the Pines director, alongside Sound of Metal‘s Kirt Gunn, Roofman stars Channing Tatum as the titular ceiling-dweller, with Kirsten Dunst, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, Jimmy O. Yang and Peter Dinklage. Check out the video below…

“Based on an unbelievable true story, Roofman follows Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum), a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname: Roofman. After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a Toys “R” Us for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move. But when he falls for Leigh (Kirsten Dunst), a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm, his double life begins to unravel, setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in.”

Roofman is in cinemas from October 17th.
