The Tracking Board is reporting that Chris Hemsworth is circling the spec script Allan Quatermain, which is being packaged by Creative Artists Agency as a potential franchise launcher.
Details on the script are being kept tightly under wraps, is said to offer a contemporary take on the iconic character, who made his first appearance in H. Rider Haggard’s classic 1885 novel King Solomon’s Mines.
Numerous actors have portrayed Quatermain over the years, including Richard Chamberlain, Sean Connery and Patrick Swayze, while Sam Worthington became attached to an adaptation of King Solomon’s Mines at DreamWorks back in 2010, although that appears to be lost in development hell.
