In just over two weeks Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey completes its long journey by sailing into cinemas around the world, and Universal Pictures has released a behind-the-scenes featurette in which cast-and-crew extol the virtues of filming the blockbuster epic entirely with IMAX film cameras.
Captured on the whopping great cameras by the Academy Award winning Oppenheimer director are a cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, Hamish Patel, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Nick Tarabay, Jimmy Gonzales, Maurice Compte, Logan Marshall-Green, Michael Vlamis and Iddo Goldberg. Christopher Nolan’s next film, The Odyssey, is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
