Spurred on by an impressive opening in China earlier this month, Christopher Nolan’s latest film – the World War II epic Dunkirk – has sailed past the $500 million mark at the global box office, having grossed $508.3 million to date around the world.

Dunkirk sees Christopher Nolan directing a cast that includes Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard, Jack Lowden, James D’Arcy, Barry Keoghan, Tom Glynn-Carney and newcomer Fionn Whitehead.
