David Ayer to reunite with Shia LaBeouf for crime thriller Tax Collector

June 22, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Before he gets back into the director’s chair for Netflix’s Bright sequel, filmmaker David Ayer is set to reunite with his Fury star Shia LaBeouf on the crime thriller Tax Collector, Deadline has revealed.

Plot details on Tax Collector are being kept under wraps, but it is said to harken back to Ayer’s earlier gritty crime thrillers such as Training Day (which he wrote) and End of Watch (which he directed). Filming is slated to get underway in Los Angeles this summer, with LaBeouf joined in the cast by Bobby Soto (A Better Life).

LaBeouf is currently shooting Honey Boy, a drama based upon his own life, where he plays his own father. Ayer meanwhile remains officially attached to the Suicide Squad spinoff Gotham City Sirens, although it’s starting to look increasingly like that project has been shelved.
