Dead by Daylight goes offline with The Casting of Frank Stone

December 9, 2023 by Gary Collinson

After teasing a partnership with Supermassive Games earlier in the week, Behaviour Interactive has now officially announced that the Dead by Daylight franchise is moving from the multiplayer arena into single-player narrative horror with the upcoming title The Casting of Frank Stone.

“We’re always looking at ways to offer different experiences to the Dead by Daylight community,” states Mathieu Côté, Head of Partnerships at Behaviour Interactive. “Our players have been interested in a single-player narrative experience for quite some time, and we’re excited to expand the Dead by Daylight universe and explore new territory with Supermassive games, a studio that is at the forefront of modern video game storytelling.”

“Crafting unique, immersive stories is what we’re passionate about at Supermassive Games,” adds Creative Director Steve Goss. “We’re massive horror fans and are incredibly excited for the opportunity to tell a completely original story set in the terrifying universe of Dead by Daylight. Expect emotional, tense moments and twists and turns as you get to know a new cast of characters outside of The Entity’s Realm.”

In The Casting of Frank Stone, players will delve into a gruesome mystery where every decision matters, shaping the story and its outcome. Offering an unprecedented look at the wider world of Dead by Daylight, prepare to experience an original story that will appeal to both fans of the acclaimed horror franchise and newcomers alike.

In this captivating nightmare, things are never as they seem. The shadow of Frank Stone looms over Cedar Hills, a town forever altered by his violent past. As a group of young friends are about to discover, Stone’s blood-soaked legacy cuts deep, leaving scars across families, generations, and the very fabric of reality itself.

The Casting of Frank Stone is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2024.
