Dead by Daylight welcomes Tokyo Ghoul to hunt down Survivors

April 2, 2025 by Andrew Newton

It’s time to welcome a brand-new killer to Dead by Daylight as Tokyo Ghoul’s Ken Kaneki arrives in The Fog.  The Ghoul is ready to hunt down Survivors using the extreme agility that fans of the anime would expect with this terrifying character.  Watch the new trailer below to see The Ghoul in action.

Ken Kaneki (The Ghoul) is a high-mobility Killer who is able to cover great distances quickly using his four Kagune tentacles that erupt from his back.  Despite his slight frame, Kaneki is a Killer to be reckoned with once he starts using his Special Ability – Kagune Leap.  Using this ability allows The Ghoul to launch his tentacles to attach to a vertical surface and propel himself forward, he is able to chain two leaps together and, if that second leap takes him into a survivor, he will cause significant damage and deep wounds. Should the player in control of The Ghoul have an active Enraged Mode, it adds a third consecutive leap and increasing vault speed when launching their Kagune at Survivors.

Accompanying The Ghoul’s speedy skillset are 3 character-specific Perks that ramp up the pressure on Survivors. These include:

  • Hex: Nothing But Misery – This damages a number of Survivors to turn a Dull Totem into a Hex Totem. While that Hex is active, Survivors will become Hindered when hit by basic attacks.
  • Forever Entwined – Damaging Survivors provides Tokens that when collected increase the speed that The Ghoul can pick up, drop and Hook Survivors.
  • None Are Free: Hooking a Survivor for the first time will earn 1 Token, to a maximum of 4. When all Generators have been completed, for each token, all Windows and upright Pallets are blocked for a duration.

The Ghoul will also include new voice recordings from Natsuki Hanae who plays Ken Kaneki in the hit anime series.

Dead by Daylight: Tokyo Ghoul is available now on all platforms.
