Disney announces High School Musical 4

March 1, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the series, The Disney Channel has announced that it is reviving High School Musical, with a nationwide casting search now underway for High School Musical 4.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Jeffrey Hornaday (Teen Beach Movie) will direct and choreograph the film from a script by Dan Berendsen (Baby Daddy) and Peter Barsocchini, who penned all three of the original movies.

“High School Musical is part of Disney Channel’s DNA,” states Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channels Worldwide. “It embodies all that we stand for. As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we’re excited to announce ‘the start of something new’ – as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the High School Musical franchise.”
