Disney reportedly impressed with Han Solo sizzle reel

June 29, 2017 by Samuel Brace

According to reports, Disney is actually impressed with what they have seen in the current Han Solo sizzle reel.

Recent reports regarding the Han Solo Star Wars spin-off movie have certainly painted the film in a bad light, with Lucasfilm firing Phil Lord and Chris Miller due to creative differences, and rumours that they aren’t entirely happy with star Alden Ehrenreich’s peformance.

However, we now have some potentially good news, as apparently Disney and its licensees were privy to a screening of a sizzle reel for the movie and were actually impressed with what they saw, including the performances of its two stars.

This is according to reports from Star Wars News Net.

A month ago a #HanSolo sizzle reel was shown to Disney licensees and we hear people were very impressed with it. That's a fact. 1/2

They were especially impressed with Glover and Ehrenreich. That's why we think Alden will do just fine as young Han. 🙂 #excited 2/2

With all the varying rumours and contradictory reports flying about, it’s hard to know exactly which way is up and what is going on with the film. Fingers crossed that the above intel is accurate but we will just have to wait and see. With Ron Howard now on board as director, hopefully the ship will be kept on course and the voyage far smoother from here on out.

Han Solo stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) as the famous smuggler, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Beckett (Solo’s mentor), Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Thandie Newton (Westworld), Ian Kenny (Sing Street) and Michael K. Williams (The Night Of) in as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on May 25th 2018.
