Doctor Strange won’t appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home

July 8, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Just as Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man featured alongside the web-slinger in Spider-Man: Homecoming, there has been talk that Tom Holland’s Spidey will be joined by another Marvel hero in next year’s sequel, now titled Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Given that the two characters shared screen time in Avengers: Infinity War, and the fact that a portion of Far From Home will take place in London (home to a Sanctum), speculation has pointed to a possible appearance from Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme. However, it seems we can now scratch off that possibility.

“No, I could be coy about it, but no,” said Marvel’s Kevin Feige when asked by Slash Film about the chances of Doctor Strange showing up in the movie. “I don’t wanna get people excited. But Benedict and Holland have liked the idea of working together.”

So, with the Sorcerer Supreme off the table, are there any other Marvel heroes you think could join Spidey on his European Vacation? Are we wasting our time hoping for a Captain Britain cameo? Let us know in the comments below or on our social media channels…

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released on July 5th 2019 and sees the return of Tom Holland (Spider-Man) and Michael Keaton (The Vulture), while Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks for the role of Mysterio.
