The potential next iteration of The Office has found its first employees, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) from Greg Daniels and Michael Koman (Nathan For You).
Daniels, the creator of the U.S. version of The Office, teamed with Koman to open a writers room for a potential new series earlier this year, and while details are being kept tightly under wraps, the project is said to exist in the same universe as the hit NBC series, rather than being a reboot. The duo are said to be in the midst of a wide casting search, seeking actors with availability for the latter part of this year.
Gleeson and Impacciatore are the first casting additions for the project, which is being produced by Universal Television. As yet, there’s also no word on a potential home for the series; the original show aired on NBC, with Peacock holding the streaming rights, but Daniels and Koman are said to be looking to finalise their take before taking the package out to networks and streamers.
