Doomsday getting ready for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

July 10, 2014 by admin

He was featured in the supposedly fake script for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (read our review and breakdown here), but this rumour hasn’t surfaced from that script, but rather sources for Bleeding Cool, who claim that Doomsday designs have been spotted.

In DC Comics lore, Doomsday is the character that killed Superman in the 1992 in the Doomsday! series which is now more commonly known as Death of Superman. In the fake script leaked online they re-enact the Death of Superman storyline which leads the reveal of a Superman statue, not unlike the one that is being built on set.

However, the website does go to lengths to point out: “Now, of course, much can change in the production process. This may be used purely for flashback purposes on the screen, looking at the life (and death) of Superman. It may be purely for promotional efforts to accompany the film. Or it may not make it to the final cut”, which is usually a sign that a site doesn’t overly trust their sources.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for release on May 6th 2016, with Zack Snyder directing a cast that includes returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) alongside Ben Affleck (Argo) as Batman, Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons (The Borgias) as Alfred Pennyworth and Holly Hunter (The Piano), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire), and Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
