Dwayne Johnson confirms that he won’t appear in Fast & Furious 9

January 30, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that he will not be a part of Fast & Furious 9 but he hopes to be back in the future.

Dwayne Johnson has become a beloved part of the Fast & Furious franchise over the years and is, of course, one of the most popular actors in Hollywood today. Johnson will be seen in the Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw (which has just wrapped filming) but he will not, however, be in Fast & Furious 9.

In a recent interview with MTV News, Johnson has confirmed his absence from Fast 9 but also leaves the door open for future appearances in the main series:

“The plan has always been for the Fast and Furious universe to grow and expand. As of now, we’re not in Fast 9 because they’re getting ready to start shooting. But who knows with Fast 10 and down the road, you never know. Because look, at the end of the day, the truth is, there’s unfinished business between Hobbs and Dom. It’s unfinished.”

Would you like to see Johnson return for Fast 10? Let us know in the comments below and what you are hoping for from Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw.

It is set for release on August 2nd 2019.
