Dwayne Johnson teases Black Adam ahead of DC FanDome

August 8, 2020 by Gary Collinson

This month’s DC FanDome is certainly shaping up to be exciting for fans of the DC universe, with the virtual event set to present a host of DC projects and talent from across the worlds of film, TV, video games and comic books.

In the past couple of days alone, we’ve had confirmation that James Gunn will be unveiling his DCEU sequel The Suicide Squad, while Batman: Arkham developers Rocksteady will also be revealing a new game centred around Task Force X.

And it seems we may be getting another first look, as Dwayne Johnson has taken to social media to tease the event with a promo that promises an appearance from ‘The Man in Black’ – referring of course to the character of Black Adam, the Shazam! villain/antihero who The Rock has been attached to play for many a year now.

THEY NEEDED A HERO.
INSTEAD THEY GOT ME⚡️🖤
Excited for the first-ever global celebration of the DC Multiverse – #DCFanDome!
This one’s just for you – THE FANS AROUND THE WORLD!
Stay healthy, my friends, and I’ll see you all on August 22nd! 🥃

Now, given that Black Adam isn’t set to shoot until early in the new year, it would be surprising if any actual footage is shown during FanDome. However, the movie was gearing up to begin filming this summer before the global health crisis pushed everything back, and so it’s certainly possible that we could get a look at Johnson in his Black Adam costume, or maybe even some kind of promo shot specifically for the event. We’ll find out on August 22nd at DC FanDome!
