Fear the Walking Dead star discusses big episode that almost didn’t happen

August 22, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Alycia Debnam-Carey, one of the stars Fear the Walking Dead, has discussed her latest big episode and how it almost never happened.

On this past week’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead, actress Alycia Debnam-Carey (who plays Alicia) gave a fantastic performance in a big self-contained episode that is receiving plenty of plaudits.

The episode brought together two the show’s youngest stars, Denam-Carey and 12-year-old Alexa Nisenson but according to the former, when speaking to ComicBook.com, the episode almost didn’t happen at all:

“This episode was very neat for many reasons. Originally, this was a different script. It was with another character. It was an episode that was Morgan and Alicia, and then three days before, they were like, ‘No, we have a different plan. We want to change it completely,’ and they changed it to an Alicia and Alexa episode. So, we got the episode quite late, because they wanted to change it. When I read it, I was like, ‘This is amazing.’ I didn’t read the episode we originally had planned. I don’t think anyone did but they had some kind of new idea and the concept, and when I read it, I was like, ‘It’s great. Fantastic.’”

Set in an abandoned house, the episode has proved quite a hit with fans and critics, and it’s quite clear that actors enjoyed themselves as well. Did you like the latest episode of Fear the Walking Dead?

Fear the Walking Dead season 4 airs on Sundays in the US and on Mondays in the UK.
